Get started

Connect GitHub

Create an account, start your Graphide org's free trial, install the Graphide GitHub App, and choose which repositories Graphide reads.

Both products start the same way: Graphide reads your repositories through its GitHub App, Graphide Review, and only the ones you choose.

Your Graphide org

You buy Graphide for a Graphide org, never for a person or a GitHub account. Everyone gets one at sign-up, named after them; rename it or make more from the org switcher at the top left of your dashboard.

A Graphide org is not a GitHub account. It connects as many GitHub accounts as you like, GitHub organizations and personal accounts alike, and one plan and one free trial cover them all. Each GitHub account belongs to one Graphide org: if another org already connected it, the dashboard names that org and its owner, for you to ask for an invite. People join an org only by email invite, and Invite everyone who can push on its People page emails everyone who can push to its repositories in one go.

Reviews and CI run only for an org whose free trial has started. Joining someone else’s org instead? Skip the trial when you sign up and accept their invite.

Connect

  1. Create an account or sign in with GitHub, Google, Microsoft or your email. The setup asks you to name your org and start its free trial: 10 free reviews and $10 of CI usage, with a card at checkout; one free trial per person and per card. The trial never turns into a paid plan by itself: when the $10 is used, CI pauses until you start the $20-a-month plan on your dashboard.
  2. Connect GitHub opens GitHub’s page for installing Graphide Review. Choose the account or organisation and its repositories, and install.
  3. Back on your dashboard, every repository the installation grants is listed, each with its switch and its settings, and the org that pays for it. To connect another GitHub account to the same org, press Connect another under GitHub accounts in the org’s settings.

To add or remove repositories later, press Choose repositories next to the account’s name on your dashboard. It opens the installation on GitHub: pick Only select repositories and leave out the ones you don’t want. Graphide stops seeing those, for CI and review alike, and they drop off your dashboard.

Then

  • For Graphide review, turn on the repositories to review. Review starts on the next pull request. Turn on review has the settings.
  • For Graphide CI, press Switch to Graphide CI on the repository’s row, or ask your coding agent to switch it; How Graphide CI works has the details. A row that cannot switch says why, and what would change that, on the row itself. Graphide CI needs a GitHub organization: Graphide’s runners do not take jobs from a personal GitHub account. For a repository on a personal account, move it to a free GitHub organization and connect that to your Graphide org. Review works on personal accounts as they are.

What connecting keeps

Turning a repository on keeps a copy of its code and its git history on Graphide’s servers, so we can build it, test it and check its changes. Data, retention and deletion says what is kept and how to have it deleted.
