The map

Read your whole codebase as cards inside cards, move around it, rearrange it, and see the Architecture diagram drawn from it.

The graph map draws your whole codebase as cards inside cards: folders hold files, files hold functions, and the lines between cards are calls and uses. It is the first part on the right of the window; Ctrl+Shift+M brings it back.

Move around

  • Zoom in to go deeper. The wheel or a pinch zooms, about the pointer.
  • Double click a card to go into it. A double middle click shows the whole map.
  • Drag with the left or middle button to pan, or with two fingers on a trackpad.
  • Click selects a card. Shift+click adds or removes one, and Shift+drag draws a box that adds every card inside it.
  • Ctrl+click opens a card’s code.

With the keyboard, the arrows move between cards, Enter goes in and Backspace goes up. Ctrl+F searches the map. The full list is in Keys and mouse.

If you are used to another program’s mouse, Settings, Controls like, maps the mouse to its habits: Onshape, SOLIDWORKS, Blender, AutoCAD, Autodesk Fusion, Figma, KiCad, Miro, Rhino or SketchUp.

The ? in the map’s tools shows what each kind of line means.

Ask about a card

Right-click a card for its menu:

  • Go in, and what it says: the description of what the code does.
  • Ask an agent about it.
  • Open its code.
  • What uses it and what it depends on.
  • Rename it, or copy its reference to paste into a prompt.

Rearrange it

The map is yours to arrange. Drag a card to move it, hide it, describe it in your own words, put a new box inside it, group the cards you chose, or draw a line between two cards. A box of ideas holds whatever you put in it.

Ctrl+Z undoes a change and Ctrl+Shift+Z redoes it, while the window is open.

Agents on the map

Your agents show on the map as marks, each wearing its own badge. Click a mark to follow that agent. Settings, Show agents on the map, turns the marks off.

The Presenter is where an agent shows you something: a place on the map, a folder or a file, a setting or a web page. Turn on its Auto-follow switch to follow along as agents show you things.

The Architecture diagram

The Architecture diagram is the system map of your project: a box for each part, nested where one part owns another, and labelled lanes between them for how they talk. In the Normal window, Ctrl+Shift+A opens it.

Right-click a box and choose Show it on the graph to go from the big picture to the functions underneath.
